Can We Make Our World A Better Place to Live in?

The countdown for the start of the New Year is soon upon us and this brought me to the insight that although 2009 starts out with dreams, good intentions, new hopes and wishes it also starts with much suffering that we choose to forget on New Years Eve.

I too prefer not to dwell on negativities but find this quote by Mahatma Gandi very appropriate and worth considering throughout 2009.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
Mahatma Gandhi
Indian political and spiritual leader (1869 - 1948)

Please join me in considering how "we" are treating animals, not only pets, all animals that share our planet.

When you think about it, it´s not so surprising that Nations around the World could be progressing much faster towards peace and humanity without cruelty and neglect.

My New Years wish for humanity is that WE together will do our utmost (however small)to care for our Planet and all life on it.

I wish everyone A Very Prosperous New Year in all areas of life and please take care, everything you do does has a consequence!
